ABOUT DR JOSEPHINE CHEUNG
Dr Josephine Cheung is a graduate of the University of Queensland and has been practicing in Obstetrics and Gynaecology since 1993. She has worked in various major hospitals throughout Queensland as well as for Flying Obstetric and Gynaecology Service in Roma. Dr. Cheung now enjoys looking after her private patients at the Mater Private Clinic since 2003.
Dr Cheung has been a Clinical Associate Lecturer for medical students from the University of Queensland and a mentor to doctors-in-training at the Mater Hospital.
After delivering over thousands of healthy babies, Dr Cheung has extensive experience in the management of both low risk and high risk pregnancies. Her special interests include: General Obstetrics, High Risk Pregnancy, and General Gynaecology.
To ensure her knowledge and practice is ever improving, Dr Cheung regularly attends conferences and meetings. This enables her to provide optimum care and management for her patients/babies health and well being.
She is a cheerful, caring, and down to earth person who loves spending time with her family. As an immigrant from Hong Kong in the late 1970's, Dr. Cheung has a comprehensive understanding of her patient’s needs from both Australian and Asian cultures. She is also multi-lingual and is fluent in both English and Cantonese, as well as conversant in Mandarin.
Dr Cheung delivers babies exclusively at the Mater Mother’s Private Hospital, the largest private new born and maternal facility in Australia. She also performs Gynaecological treatment at the Mater Private Hospital and the North West Private Hospital. Both clinics are welcoming, homely environments where women appreciate professional women’s health care.
ON CALL ARRANGEMENT
Dr Josephine Cheung has a rostered on-call arrangement with other four reputable Female Obstetricians at the Mater Mother's Private Hospital.
This arrangement allows our well-rested and experience obstetricians to be available to you 24/7. It also allows Dr Cheung to provide optimal quality of care and coherent approach to your pregnancy. Your health and your babie's well-being is always our priortiy.
